the falls

the wife and i met our friends from Australia for a 7 night stay here, our first room was on a low floor so the receptionist put all of us in different rooms on a much higher floor so we had a view, the staff were very friendly and helpful rooms were big and clean with comfortable beds, ideal location to walk to attractions and restaurants, for a very large hotel it was still quite in the rooms, a nice swimming pool on the 27th or 28th floor with a small sunning area, a very nice place to stay.

Would rate 3.5 if I could

Pros: Great location, couldn't be more centrally located. 5 minute walk to Dundas Square, 20 minutes walking to Kensington Market, 20 minutes walking to Yorkville and right next to the subway. Rooms are nice and clean and the staff is very friendly. Cons: Hotel is a bit dated. Could use an update for the price. Ice cold showers on our second night. Definitely not something you want in Canada. Elevators are very slow and always full - it can take up to 15 minutes to actually fit in one after it finally arrives. This is my second stay at the hotel because of the location. Would stay again and hope that the cons could be redeemed.

Weekend Stay

This hotel was recommended by a friend and I completely agree with their assessment. A very nice hotel that's reasonably priced and at a nice location. I plan to stay here again on my next trip to Toronto.

1 Month Stay at Chelsea

The room are nice and the amenities are great! Location is downtown so you can go to any nearby establishment. Well the bed sheet, I hope they change the quality of what they use cause it makes my skin quite irritated on my whole stay. Also I hope they change the shampoo and bath soap, i don't like it at all.

Not worth the big $$

I recently spent one night at the Chelsea while travelling on business, and I felt dissatisfied with my stay overall. The parking was confusing as to where hotel guests should enter - one entrance marked public parking and another that was blocked off. Parking cost $32 for a 24 hour period. The hallways aren't clearly signed with room numbers or exits. Public computers are available in the lobby for a cost of $0.50/minute, and they offer zero privacy. I was harassed by a vagrant while trying to use the computers. I ordered chicken fingers and salad for dinner (no drink or dessert or anything else) and with tax, gratuity and delivery fee, it came to $24 for about 4 chicken fingers and a small garden salad consisting of 90% lettuce. I paid a discounted price available to my employer, but a notice on the room door indicated that the room regularly rents for $569/night, which is about $400 more than I felt it was worth. Location is central and convenient, but the overall experience left me feeling a little taken advantage of.
