Good hotel

Great staff and a good location. Rooms are spacious and if you have the option, get the spa shower! Weekends can be a little hectic at night with the club right next door, but the friendly staff and service more than compensates for it.

Great Location

Location was excellent, walking distance for almost any important headquarter or companies at Downtown. Breakfast service is different than other HGI hotels, but the service was excellent. The issue is doors are closed if you arrived after midnight

Very nice hotel that is fairly close to attractions

This was a good hotel. Very clean, modern, spacious, and the staff was very friendly.The hotel room and bathroom were nice and clean. I would have given them a 5 but there is a nightclub that is next to the hotel.Our room must have been on that side. They are very very loud and don't close until late at night. That made it very hard to sleep. Being in a city they also didn't have very good parking. They didn't really act like they knew what they were doing, I feel like they could of had a better system. We had to park on the street and wait because they had filled up other cars in the main driving entrance for valet. We had breakfast there as well, which was very good, the buffet had alot of options. It was not free.The staff were beyond friendly and gave us tips about the area. Fairly close to places, we walked to the CN tower. We could actually see it from our hotel room.

Terrible Experience, Don't waste your time/money here

I don't usually take my time to write a review but after my terrible experience at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Toronto I felt it was necessary. My friends & I checked in to the hotel on Saturday January 7th for 1 night, I had booked the room under the friends & family rate using my sister in laws discount, we were celebrating my Birthday. We had no problem at check in, the man that checked us in was polite & fast, we checked in around 2:30pm. Around 9:30pm we got a noise complaint, which seemed kind of ridiculous because it was a Saturday night and we really weren't being that loud seeing as there was only 3 of us in the room. We were still respectful though and turned down our music/talked quietly. Another friend of mine came around 10:30pm and came up to the room no problem. Then around 11:30pm another friend was trying to come up to the room and the front desk people weren't letting her come up. (they said there was too many people in the room) mean while there was only 4 of us & only 3 of us slept at the hotel anyways. Since they wouldn't let the 5th person come up to the room (she literally just wanted to come up to give me a present and then we were leaving to go out for the night). The front desk people (2 men not sure their names) were extremely rude and disrespectful and were saying none of us were authorized to be in the room because the reservation had my sister in laws name on it. Mean while we checked in no problem at 2:30pm (I gave them my credit card/I.D to check). So looks like this is their issue, you can't check someone in no problem at 2:30pm and then at midnight try to kick them out of the room for no reason??? The man at the front desk was being so rude/disrespectful/laughing etc. & was saying we couldn't go back up to the room unless we basically signed for a new room. We argued with them for probably 30-40 minutes until we finally just signed for a new room/new rate because they were wasting our time & we were trying to go out to a club to celebrate my birthday. So finally once we signed for a new rate which ended up being $169.00 + tax + parking which came to $335.00 compared to the original rate I booked at $98.00. In the morning we asked to speak with a manager and he was very nice and simply called my sister in laws work to confirm she worked there & changed our rate back to the $98.00, I appreciated this manager talking to us in a respectful way and changing the rate back but after all of that still happened I would never choose to stay at this location again. There are so many hotels in Toronto, I wouldn't waste my time or money staying here after being treated how we did and our time wasted.

Good hotel; great customer service

The room was everything you'd expect from a Hilton Garden Inn. Moderate in size and very clean and comfortable. What set this hotel apart was the great customer service. Our first night, an alarm went off in the next room and continued for a very long time. We called the front desk and someone went to shut the alarm off within five minutes. I think the previous guest had left it set and the room was vacant. The next night, a crowd seemed to be having a "girlfriends weekend" in the next room and when the music, chatter and laughter went past what seemed a reasonable time, we knocked on the door but they did not answer. A call to the front desk saw security there within minutes and the party broken up. It seems there were far more people staying in the room than registered and this was dealt with swiftly. We actually saw those people at the desk the next day complaining, saying that they were never told that many people (there seemed to be six) could not share a room and they thought it was terrible customer service that they were required to book a second room for the night. I beg to differ. A hotel is a public space and while you rent the room for your use, it doesn't entitle you to party on into the night an annoy the whole floor. We were impressed with how polite and firm the desk clerk was being with these people.
