Best I've ever had...

On our honeymoon, we couldn't have gone anywhere better. They treated us like royalties. Had all the management staff come greet us personally, invited us to a free cocktail session, had candle-lit dinner by the pool side on the house. Awesome experience!!! Now my wife loves me even more than ever for that experience. Not to forget, the food is awesome! Best steak in the world.....

Outstanding. A luxurious home away from home.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Labadi Beach on an impromptu holiday to Ghana. Instantly felt welcomed and relaxed. Sparking wine cocktails on arrival. Fast check-in and we were delighted to be upgraded to an executive suite. It was like having a second honeymoon! Wonderful! From the moment you enter the lobby, you can immediately see the quality and sense the history of this place and can see why it has such a strong and longstanding reputation. Everywhere we went we encountered exceptionally friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Their pride, passion and enthusiasm for their work came through strong. The hotel felt very safe. There is present but inconspicuous security 24 hours a day, not that it is needed as Ghana is very safe and peaceful generally. But it is nice to be able to relax and leave your bags and things around without having to worry. The security on the gate will flag you a taxi if you are heading out. Just check with them how much it should cost as it is fair to say that the prices between taxis can be variable! Our room was FANTASTIC. Tastefully decorated throughout in what is best described as an Afro-Scandi style. Huge room with separate living space and toilet. The bed and pillows were probably the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the bedding was luxurious. Thick blackout curtains covered both sets of doors to the balcony. We slept soundly and deeply every night of our stay. Amenities were generally very good. There is a huge pool and a separate lap pool. Both are kept very clean and free of harsh chemicals. There is a reasonable gym, although it could do with a rowing machine and a proper spin / watt bike to be of most use to all. The poolside service is great and there is a beach bar / hut that is also the hotel's only smoking area. The only disappointment was the Beach. There is loads of washed up rubbish which form huge piles in the sand. It is quite a disgusting sight when the tide is low. We also spotted bits of broken glass and other debris that would hurt if you stepped on it. It was such a shame as the beach would be lovely otherwise. Having toured other parts of Ghana, I can see that the problem is not exclusive to Labadi and there clearly needs to be some government strategy to get the Beach cleaned up. In the meantime, as a suggestion, having staff on the beach in front of the hotel pick up litter each night would be a big improvement. Food options are extensive throughout the hotel. Buffet dinner every night. They host many special and themed events. 24 bar with full food menu in the lobby and the same menu is available as room service 24 hours. Special diets are catered for and vegetarian options are in abundance. Everywhere you go, staff will smile and greet you with joy. Highly recommended for business and leisure travellers alike. They also host birthday parties and family events. We witnessed the most rousing and uplifting rendition of happy birthday sang by every member of stage present at breakfast. The lucky patron looked delighted, as were we. The Labadi Beach truly felt like a home away from home. We look forward to coming back many times in future.

One of the best hotels in Africa

I've been enjoying this extraordinary hotel for 14 years, and every year it's improving. Since 1998 I've been organizing trade missions to Ghana, and first time I went to Labadi was in 2002. Everybody I've taken to the hotel (I've always lead a minimum of 20 people group to Accra) gets impressed by the installations, services and people of the hotel. Congratulations.

Nice place by the beach

Lovely place with good service and beautiful furnishings. I really loved the hated swimming pools and it was good to get an early morning plunge. The only downside was the noise from the loud music emanating from the beach revellers.
