Book yourself an apartment rather than Intercon Jeddah, at least they'll meet your expectations!

* Given that I am an ambassador on their IHG program (meaning that I got the best treatment ever). Here is my take and I will be as objective as possible: - I went for 1 night (business trip), when I first entered the room I found both a welcome and a goodbye letters - seems that they are not decided whether to greet to goodbye. This notifies that the team is programmed, they don't think - they are just throwing letters at you - They gave me a smoking room while I'm not a smoker. The receptionist claims that this preference cannot be read from the IHG system! - The sink in the room does not drain (bear in mind that I'm an ambassador in their loyalty program, meaning that this is the best room ever) - The mosquitoes are flooding the room - I informed the duty manager (Abdulhakim) and he even did not bother to send an apology or a compensation (actually this is what encouraged me to write this review). * Let alone the usuals: - The furniture is old (I have been coming to this hotel since 2012 and it is the same style and furniture) - The staff is robotic, nobody smiles - Only one point for elevators serving a widely horizontal area building, meaning that you have to walk sometimes for 4 minutes to reach your room (given that corridors are like a maze - you have to loop a couple of times to understand where you are) - Rooms' toilets are simply old and give you a feeling that they are not clean (maybe they actually are not clean) - Please do everybody a favor and stop distributing those handmade gifts for IHG members, I know that they might be going for a charitable cause. But believe me, no one is going to make use of them - I suggest that you donate money to charity instead of wasting your money and their efforts - Usually the stay points of IHG are not deposited in my account, I doubt that front-desk is afraid that I shall report them (when they deposit your points, IHG group asks for your review, and this will harm them as they know that the hotel is not up to standards). - most of the times I have to request the points to be deposited manually from IHG group directly. - Last but not least (and given all the above): value for money is awful

Nice hotel, a bit old but clean

Good hotel for your stay in jeddah. A bit expensive but prices in jeddah for the same are all high. Location is near the sea and you can walk on the beach side during Good weather. Their food is very good and the breakfast is international with multiple of options for all cultures and nationalities.

I was not sure what to expect in Saudi Arabia - Nothing to Fear!

This was my first trip to the Kingdom and it was a great experience at the Intercontinental - Jeddah. There are several other major hotels in the vicinity. The location next to the park is very nice and I felt free to walk around without any cause for fear. I was actually more afraid of the cars zooming around the park. Please be careful as you cross the street from the hotel. The park was very nice and found lots of families and people fishing. Most could not speak but a few tried out their English and even offered to buy me a coffee. I think they were truly interested in meeting foreigners and we had some great discussions while they fished. There is also a McDonald and a few other restaurants nearby so you don't have to be limited to the 2 restaurants at the hotel. Everything about the hotel was very nice - the rooms had very good air conditioning and comfortable beds. I am not a hotel snob - so I don't have some huge expectations for a 5 star hotel. We had a medical conference at the hotel and they handled everything beautifully.

Nice hotel

Very good hotel on Cornish. Usually filled with foreigners. Food is good but few of its restaurant service is not up to the mark like fish market and spears. Specially Spears Staff is below any international Hotel.
