good property

we stayed in the Ocean view junior villa and really enjoyed the stay. the service was great and you can enjoy beautiful sunrise and sunset views from the property. the villas were much smaller and not as luxurious as the Hilton's ones up in Glacis area, but the price is significantly lower as well. the beach is small, shallow and rocky but the views of the mountains make up for it. in general, we preferred La Digue or Silhouette for the beaches so make sure to spend at least a few days exploring other islands.

Poor service

It was short gate away. Unfortunately it turned out it was not worthy. Room is old but big bathtub and balcony with beautiful sea view are credit. A sink in our room was blocked and fixed while we were dining. Tonic water in a minibar was expired and couple of items about to be so we did not even think to have any of them. Pool was small but not a big issue as a beautiful beach is few steps away from it. But you will be asked to return used towels by yourself to the bin not in a good manner by a pool attendant. When we went for a cup of coffee in one of restaurants around 11am, no one bothered to greeting or bringing us menu. Go and Grab a menu by myself but a return was shouts by a satff behind of a bar "we open at 12pm for a lunch"..Well.. I knew that but aren't you open for drinks?! I had to go to one of staffs to give an order. Self service in a 5 star resort basically. If you plan for a late dinner like 9.30-10pm, I would recommend pack your own foods or go to restaurants outside of resort. There are few other resorts outside, very close. We were told by one of restaurant they were still open but closing..so felt uncomfortable to dine. Another restaurant, only chips and sandwiches were available at this time. Too limited.. often you have to move out from your table to get an attention from staffs. By the way, do not expect smils for a return.. You will get a call 9am, 1 day before you leave and will be asked to confirm what time you will leave next day. Even after you write your departure flight during check in or tell them you will not be check out no later than 12pm.. so don't worry.. they will still call you again or will be asked to call them back what time you will empty a room next day. It is a beautiful resort with amazing nature surrounded but unfortunately It was not worthy for me to spend short holidays. Will not return or recommend.

Fantastic 1 Week Stay in the Seychelles

An absolutely fantastic 1 week stay in the Seychelles at the Le Meridien Fisherman's Cove. The hotel was one of the first hotels on the beach and it is still a very nice hotel. Location is perfect....20 minute taxi ride from the airport. Once on the property, there are numerous restaurants, bars, and activities just a short walk up the beach. There is parasailing, jet ski rentals, paddle boards, and numerous water activities available. We are SPG Platinum and put in for our suite night award but those were not available. We were given a very nice, clean ocean front room instead. The room was set up for honeymooners/couples as the shower is open and in the middle of the room.....we loved it! No club lounge, but very nice breakfast buffet in the morning which was free. Although the hotel was full, there was plenty of room at the pool with lounge chairs always available. For SPG members this is a fantastic property to use your points as it recently dropped from a Category 6 to a Category 5. Make sure to book a private boat charter with Gerry who is often in the lobby. The guy has been giving boats tours from the hotel for 20+ years and pick up / drop off is the beach by the hotel.

Worst hotel I've stayed at in years!!

We are in hotels 150 nights a year of which 130 or so are at SPG properties as I am Ambassador Level which is above Platinum and requires 100 nights a year. I rarely bash a Starwood property as I am very loyal to the brand. But this property is bad. The rooms are old, the shower is in middle of the room and the water sprays all over, there were little bugs everywhere and the service was terrible. The only great service we received was from the night Desk person Jason. Other than that, we couldn't get any pool service for drinks. ( I never really understood this. If you are charging 15-20 a drink, you should have as much staff as necessary to serve everyone quickly). When we finally sound someone and asked for a drink menu he never came back! They were so bad they forgot to charge us on our first day for the drinks. We couldn't get coffee at breakfast until we asked three different servers and when I opened my napkin with the silverware a bunch of ants came out. We came back one day from touring around 4pm one day and found 4 housekeepers siting around talking in our room. I don't care if you have points to use I wouldn't stay here. Try the kempinski for similar price or some other newer property. Maybe the service isn't up to par on the island anywhere but at least you will hopefully have a newer and clean room.

Pleasant stay

Situated at the west end of Beau Valon bay. About a 20 min walk into town with some restaurants much closer. Along the beach even after dark seemed fine. The views are great and the sea below the hotel is rocky so beach shoes advised. This also means the snorkelling around the rocks is the best in the bay. The hotel is tiered bungalow accommodation all with sea views. The pool is small but adequate with great views across the bay. Sun beds are very comfortable and towels never a problem. Very pretty well kept gardens. This may once have been 5 star but no longer, parts of the hotel and rooms appear tired. However I wouldn't be put off as what it lacks in facility's is more than made up by the friendly helpful staff. As it's quite a small hotel after a few days everyone knows your face and stops to chat. Car hire from the hotel very easy with good rates and well worth it to visit some of the amazing beaches on Mahe. Lots of people choose B&B then eat in the various restaurants in town, however the reasonable places are expensive. Mains £25-30, small beer £4.50-9 depending on where you go, even in the supermarkets basic items are expensive. Boat trip to the other islands £175 each for a day trip. For me a week was enough with pool days, beach days and time to visit other parts of the island.
