That's The Way To Do It!

Stayed at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel, whilst attending a trade dinner at the Midland Hotel, next door. I was a guest and so had nothing to do with the choice of hotel on this occasion and checked in with (the usual) modest expectations. What a delight the Radisson turned out to be! A good quality hotel in a quirky and interesting building (The Free Trade Hall) in a great location. But it was the service that set it apart from anywhere else I have stayed in a long, long time. From the first encounter with the concierge desk to the last goodbye. The head concierge remembered and addressed me by my name throughout my stay - which is a really nice touch - it makes you feel valued as a guest. The check-in person was both efficient and charming. So was the (different) check out person, so it is not a fluke, it's the quality of the team and the prevailing culture within the hotel, which I believe always comes down from the top. wherever I went in the public areas, members of the team were constantly looking for an opportunity to perform some service, or to be helpful in any way that they could - without being intrusive. It was rather like one imagines it to be, if one were able to stay at The Dorchester, or Claridge's. I'm planning to bring Mrs H up to Manchester, so we can stay at the Radison Blu Edwardian, whilst exploring Manchester.

Easy - from start to finish

Not the cheapest. Not the nicest breakfast. But easy. Lovely arrival. Big clean rooms. Great location. Big hotel - but all the staff are trying hard. I didn't enjoy it per se but it did the job! One of the top places in Manchester to stay.

Good hotel, some minuses

Good hotel, took early contact to know If They could help with something. Asked them to book a restaurant table in a good beef restaurant and order good cars from and to the AirPort and Old Trafford They did fix this quick, but They could have told us the distance. We paid 78 pound per way (78x4 pound) DO NOT use the consergie for car booking, would have been very much cheaper with über all ways. They should have warned us about short distances all the time. Bad service. The restaurant: we did not like the steak and lobster but loves the other. Again bad choice from consergie. The Al Fresco suite we had is large and very Clean and in 2001 standard. It is good enough. The bath miss heating Cables but are VERY Nice with good soap and shampoo/conditioner. Front desk iss effecient, minus check in. We came at 13:10, room not ready before in 1-2 hours. That is after check in time. But Nice service and quick check out. Very polite and friendly girls who work in the front desk. The cleaning lady were a six Star rated women. She was quick, did the cleaning very good and was so smiling. She did not Even take the tip we lay on the bed. She came for turn down and always did AS the light said (do not disturb or turn down) the switch for do not disturb ... is closest to the front door. The city center is rather small and you can go everywhere from the hotel. You are in the middel of the city and it is 8 minutes walk to the shopping centers. Good pizza on the closest pizza shop to the hotel. The hotel is charming, with swimming pool that is good and Clean and a gym that is rather Ok size for a hotel gym. Do miss towels and water in the gym. But plenty of space for a few people. All in all They just need to correct the consergie service from earning money to guest service and plan some heating on the bathroom and this is a 5.. Enjoyed living in the hotel. .... good internet on the hotel.

Impressive

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The facilities and staff were excellent. It is right across the road from the Manchester Central Conference Centre where there is sufficient parking. The huge chicken in the foyer is a bit bizarre. It is a very busy hotel. Queuing for breakfast is the norm, unless you pick the right time.

Nice property with distant parking

I stayed three days at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester. I was disappointed at arrival both to learn that parking is a five-minute walk from reception and that I was not afforded a complimentary upgrade despite room availability. My pleas for the hotel staff to recognise me as a Concierge Elite member of the Club Carlson program fell on deaf ears. The room in which I stayed was comfortable and the hotel service, including gym and spa, was very good.
